Double delight for Seend School

Seend Cof E Primary School has been praised for its outstanding pupil behaviour and decisive leadership, after it was inspected twice within a month.
Staff at the school had just got over their Ofsted visit last month when they found out they were then due a second church inspection.
However they were delighted to receive the results after Easter, which revealed a good ranking from Ofsted, and outstanding from the church.
Headteacher Jackie Chalk said: “We had just breathed a sigh of relief after the Ofsted when we had the email saying we would get the church inspection, so we couldn’t relax into the end of term.
“It was great because what we thought were our strengths – our children’s behaviour and their attitude toward their learning, is what came through as outstanding in the report, and all the other comments are very good too.”
The report says: “The behaviour and safety of pupils are outstanding. They have enthusiastic attitudes to learning and show great care and respect for each other and adults.
“The school is led very effectively by a decisive and caring headteacher, who constantly encourages staff and pupils alike to do the best they can.”
The school was ranked good in its last inspection in 2009, before national changes saw the Ofsted rules become tougher. The church inspectors, raised the school’s rating from ‘good’ to outstanding.
