Climate Friendly Bradford on Avon has formed a Swift Group to protect the birds, after noting that numbers are decreasing in the town.
The group is an offshoot of the CFBOA biodiversity group and members have been keeping an eye on planning applications that could affect the nesting places of swifts.
They have received £500 from Link2Nature to buy nest boxes for the birds and have also looked into the possibility of altering the dovecot holes in St Margaret’s Hall to make them suitable for swifts.
