FORTUNE favoured three people who escaped unscathed after their car flipped onto its roof close to Clyffe Pypard on Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to the scene at 5.45pm at the Withy Bed area of Bushton between Royal Wootton Bassett and Lyneham to reports of a car which had ended up on its roof.

The three occupants of the car, a blue MG ZS, all clambered out as soon as it came to rest, and miraculously none were seriously injured, with only the male driver suffering some minor injuries.

Police believe the car had simply clipped the side of a kerb, which sent it off the road, ending up upside-down in a nearby ditch.

Luckily for all three occupants the roof of the car took the brunt of the impact and allowed them to escape unharmed, if a little shell-shocked.

A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: “The three people in this car really need to do the lottery this week.

“The incident took place close to Clyffe Pypard at 5.46pm on Sunday afternoon. This was a single vehicle accident involving a blue MG ZS.

“The car appears to have clipped a kerb and ended up in the ditch. There were three people inside and all got out of the vehicle straight away. The male driver had some minor injuries.”
