Senior care assistant Sarah Wharton had her waist-length hair shaved off in memory of sister-in-law Charlene Surtees at an event for Cancer Research.
Mrs Wharton, of Campion Close in Calne, and her family lost Charlene to cervical cancer in January, just 18 months after she had been diagnosed with the disease.
She raised more than £700 with the headshave and fun day at the Mallard, Lyneham.
Mrs Wharton said: “It was very emotional. I did cry at one point. Charlene would definitely be proud of me. Everyone says how pretty I look now, so it’s really nice.”
Mrs Wharton donated her cut-off hair to the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for sick children.
