The Devizes Food and Drink Festival is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.
Along with our main festival sponsor, Martin Walker, we would like to invite you to join us for our biggest and best festival which will be taking place between May 17 and 25.
Throughout the festival we will be offering a wide range of fabulous food-related events with the aim of highlighting all that is great in the world of food from Wiltshire and beyond. The first festival event is the Grand Market Fair which takes place in the Market Place on May 17.
Come and visit the Taste of Devizes marquee where among other stands you will be able to enjoy butchery demonstrations by the Country Butchers team, experience Wadworth’s work and taste the wonderful Devizes cheesecake created especially by Gianni Campanella from Dolcipani café.
With a record number of producers demonstrating at the fair this year, the Market Place will be packed with a wide range of food to consume while enjoying the fair, or to take home and enjoy later – plus a wide range of exhibitors selling the latest cookery equipment, books and tableware to bring you the complete food experience.
A cake decorating competition for younger visitors and the exciting cookery demonstrations will also be taking place throughout the day. By popular demand, following her excellent demonstration last year, we are delighted to welcome back Xanthe Clay, food writer for the Telegraph, as well as Jonathan Furby who is the head chef at The Bear Hotel. Jonathan has cooked for us at previous festivals so we are delighted he is able to be with us at our tenth anniversary.
There are so many other events throughout the other nine days – find out about running an allotment, enjoy a bangers and beer supper or test your foodie knowledge at our foodie quiz.
How about experiencing a night in Marrakech, learning about different types of teas or finding out about how to match food and wine? Last but not least why not join us at our Cocktail Party on Friday, May 23 –the cocktails are legendary!
This is only a small sample of events that will be on offer throughout the festival, so whether you are an avid cook or just enjoy eating, come and see what we have on offer.
