Studley resident Hazel Eastham is preparing for a six-day sponsored walk across the Scottish Highlands to raise money for defibrillators.

Mrs Eastham, of New Road, is part of the Derry Hill and Studley Heartbeat Trust. The group installed two defibrillators in the telephone box on Church Road and at Lansdowne Hall last year and wants extra machines for Studley.

The 59-year-old will begin walking 79 miles along the Great Glen Way, from Fort William to Inverness on July 15 with her 64-year-old husband Laurence.

She said: “I think the defibrillators are a great idea for every village like ours, which is out in the countryside.”
