Sir Bob Geldof has confirmed The Boomtown Rats will be performing at the charity concert in All Cannings on Saturday, May 31.
The band is the headline act at the Concert At The Kings but some wondered if Sir Bob would still be taking to the stage following the tragic death of his 25-year-old daughter, Peaches, last month.
But the organisers have been told the band - best known for its 1979 number 1 single I Don't Like Mondays - will be there.
Richard Baulu, co-organiser and landlord of the Kings Arms pub in All Cannings, said: “We have heard Sir Bob Geldof is back to work and he will definitely be performing at Concert at the Kings.
"It really is fantastic news. Everybody is going to be looking forward to seeing him.”
Other bands performing on the main stage are The Troggs, Los Pacaminos with Paul Young, Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel and The Straits.
A new element this year is a second stage for young, up and coming bands - Jake Meeking, from Bath, The Greasy Slicks and Funkin Skunks.
Mr Baulu said organisers were hopeful the concert would be a sell out for the first time.
He said: “Tickets are going really fast.
"We have sold over 3,000 out of 4,500 available. There’s a great buzz about the concert and it’s going to be a fantastic day.
"It’s a great line up and the second stage gives another style and dimension and might appeal to other age groups as well.
"We have got some good young talent performing. They will be playing when the bands on the main stage are changing over.”
The concert is held in a field at the back of the Kings Arms. There will be about 14 food stalls and new this year is one selling Caribbean food.
The concert, in its third year, is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and Above and Beyond, which supports hospitals in Bristol, and projects in All Cannings.
Tickets are available from www.concertatthekings.co.uk or Sound Knowledge in Marlborough and Wadworth Visitor Centre, Devizes.
