Devizes MP Claire Perry has joined a group of cross-party women MPs to condemn the kidnapping of schoolgirls in northern Nigeria.
Mrs Perry said: “I know, from my visit to the Gunjur (in The Gambia), how vital education is for young people, especially girls, in African countries.
"This brutal treatment of girls seeking an education demonstrates the cruelty and immorality of this group (Islamist militants Boko Haram).
"I hope that there will soon be an end to this heartbreaking situation, and the girls will be reunited with their families as soon as possible.”
