Royal Wootton Bassett is preparing to welcome a new mayor at its mayor-making ceremony today.
At a special meeting, which will also include the town council’s annual general meeting, the town will say goodbye to outgoing mayor Linda Frost and welcome her successor, the current deputy mayor, Susan Hughes.
Mrs Hughes has been a Royal Wootton Bassett town councillor for three years and has already announced that her nominated charity for the year will be homelessness support group the Filling Station.
The mayor making will take place in St Bartholomew and All Saints' Church in the High Street. The event starts at 7pm.
