HEALTH bosses want people to give their views on the Great Western Hospital.

They are being invited to an event on June 2 from 6.30pm until 9pm at the De Vere Hotel.

Attendees will be asked to share their opinion on the hospital and what could be improved upon in round table open discussions.

GWH Chief Nurse Hilary Walker said: “This is your chance to tell us what we do well and what we need to improve, so come along and share your experiences with us. It could be about the care you’ve received, how staff treated you, how you were greeted at reception, how you were involved in your care, how you were kept informed, how you found the facilities at the hospital or anything else which was important to you.

“Our staff work incredibly hard to provide the best care, but we know that sometimes we don’t get everything right. I want to get a clear picture of what it feels like to be a patient or visitor at our hospital. All feedback will be invaluable in helping us improve the experiences of future patients and visitors.”

The event is organised in collaboration with Healthwatch Swindon.

Pete Rowe, manager of Healthwatch Swindon, said: “We are really excited to be involved in such an event. As an independent organisation that champions the voice of the people on health and social care services, this is a wonderful opportunity for the people to have their say and share their experiences – both good and bad.”

Feedback will be used to inform how the trust provides care and will be shared with individual wards and departments, so they know what they are doing well and where things need to change.

To book a place email angela.morris@gwh.nhs.uk or call 01793 604183. Anyone unable to attend but wants to share their feedback can do so by emailing pete.rowe@healthwatchswindon.org.uk or calling 01793 497777.
