A charity football match in memory of 41-year-old Leisa Redford will raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

Bremhill View will play Jenny Wren FC this Sunday at 2.30pm at the Calne Football Club, and later there will be live music at the Jenny Wren in Lickhill Road.

Leisa, a beautician based in Calne, was diagnosed with leukaemia in February 2013 and went through chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a bone marrow transplant.

She died just before Christmas the same year, leaving two sons Tommy and Ben.

Fiancé Craig Beaven, who is organising the football match with Ben, said friends and family had already raised £6,000 for charity in her memory.

He said: “We’re trying to do everything we can to raise as much money as possible and we have a number of events going on throughout the year.

“Unfortunately it always happens to the best of us. She was loved by many people in Calne which is why we have had so much support.

“She put everyone before herself, she never had a bad word to say against anyone. That’s why the church was ram-packed. It was a huge loss.”
