A RUSTY car bonnet was the find of the day for volunteers cleaning out the River Avon in Bradford on Avon on Saturday.
Mayor John Potter and members from the Rowing Club and the Anglers Association joined members of the public to clear the banks and water stretching from Greenland Mills to Avoncliff.
River enthusiast AJ Donner used his power dinghy and buoyancy aids were supplied by the Sailing Club, and a range of materials filled numerous rubbish bags during the morning clean-up, which started as a private venture by residents John and Annette Seekings in their canoes. Mr Seekings said: βIt has gradually built up over the years and more people have joined.β
