Organisers of the Concert at the Kings charity concert in All Cannings are hopeful it will be a sell out.

About 4,000 tickets have been sold leaving 500 available and if they are not sold in advance they will be on sale on the day of the concert tomorrow.

The Boomtown Rats with Sir Bob Geldof are headlining the event and other acts include The Troggs, Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel.

Sweet guitarist Andy Scott is raffling a guitar to raise extra funds.

The concert will raise money for Cancer Research UK, Above & Beyond - the charity that raises funds for Bristol’s nine central hospitals - and All Cannings parish projects.

Richard Baulu, one of the organisers and landlord of the King’s Arms pub in All Cannings, said: “Tickets are going pretty well and it’s the best ever. The weather forecast for Saturday is OK so we should be all right.

"The really big moment will be when Bob Geldof steps on the stage, after all the trauma he has gone through (the death of his daughter Peaches). It will be great to see him performing.”

Tickets are available from the King’s Arms, the Wadworth Brewery Visitor Centre in Devizes and Sound Knowledge in Marlborough or online at
