A poppy planting day organised by North Bradley Peace Memorial Trust Committee was held at the recreation ground on Sunday as part of the village’s First World War commemorations.
The event, which included the Eden Project-organised Big Lunch event, gave residents an opportunity to plant poppy seeds in pots and take them home.
There was also a paper poppy making workshop held for children.
It was organised after the committee got a grant for £1,000 from Trowbridge Area Board for its plans to commemorate the centenary. The next event takes place at the end of June.
Committee member Pauline Baxter said: “We had a good number of people throughout the day and the weather was really good to us.
“It was nice to hold a free event that allowed people to come together.”
