A furniture and interior design company in Calne has won a large contract to supply furnishings for the new Springfield Corsham Community Campus.

Elm Workspace, on Porte Marsh Road, will put its mark on the campus at the Springfield Leisure Centre, which is the first of several community campuses being developed by Wiltshire Council.

Its team of experts has consulted the council and spent time designing the new inside and outside cafe areas, the hall, meeting rooms and social space.

Daren Spencer, from Elm Workspace, said: “We have worked with Wiltshire Council on a number of projects over several years.

“The Corsham campus is an exciting development that involves working with the community to deliver a result that meets their requirements.

“As a local company this is a rewarding experience.”

Elm Workspace has six different offices, with employees in London, Somerset, Oxfordshire and Devon, but its head office is in Calne.

It specialises in delivering and installing interiors for commercial, public sector, healthcare and educational premises.

“The new building is expected to attract hundreds of new visitors and will also have an enlarged library, a climbing wall and exhibition space.

Mr Spencer said: “Our design, space planning and furniture expertise combined with our service ethic and realistic pricing, helped us to win the contract. We look forward to helping to make the new community campus a great success.”

Dave Martin, town clerk for Corsham Town Council, said: “Obviously the council supports local businesses and they are pretty local, as local as you can get.”
