Swindon shoppers set to be serenaded

IF YOU go down to the Outlet Village at 3pm on Saturday you may be in for a big surprise.
You will be serenaded for about 90 minutes, as you shop, by a bunch of internationally acclaimed male singers who make up the Wessex Male Choir, based in Swindon.
Spokesman Tim Yeoman said: “The choir has been to the Outlet Centre before but this will be a real adventure.
“The choir are normally heard at concerts, although occasionally also in a nearby pub after a concert, but on this occasion they are entertaining shoppers and their families, at the same time raising money for the local branch of Parkinson’s UK and also hoping that those hearing them may be encouraged to join the choir or tell others about them with a view to get them to join.”
Wessex Male Choir will be performing again at their Summer Concert in the Steam Museum, at 7.30pm on July 5.
They will be joined by their guests MJ-UK Arts and Music which consists of a group of talented young people who will entertain you with songs from the shows and opera.
Tickets are available from the Information Office, Central Library, from the Steam Museum in person or by contacting the choir’s website at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tickets are £12 and children under 16 go free but will require a ticket for admission. The bar will be open from 6.30pm and doors to the concert open at 7pm.
