WILTSHIRE Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on two police officers in Devizes.
The incident took place at approximately 3.10am on Sunday outside the Corn Exchange in the town centre.
Two police officers were assaulted during the incident. One officer was knocked unconscious while the other sustained facial injuries. Both officers were taken to hospital but have subsequently been released.
A 22 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in police custody. A 24 year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
