Students in both Years 12 and 13 from Matravers School, Westbury, got together for a party at the Leigh Park Hotel, Bradford on Avon, on Wednesday evening to say goodbye to the senior sixth formers.

Graham Hilliard, sixth form pastoral manager, said: “It is a tradition for students now that Year 13 have completed their A-levels and will be moving on.

“I’m fairly new to the sixth form but the students have been great to work with and have worked really hard.”

Year 13 students will be going on to college, university or the world of work. Martyna Roszman, 18, from Queensway Road, Warminster, said: “It is just nice to spend an evening with friends. I know that some of them will be going off to university.”

Martyna is intending to take a course in art and design at Wiltshire College and would like to go on to a career in photography.

Year 12 student Shane Roy, 17, from Westbury, is studying biology, chemistry and geography at A-level and wants to go on a study medicine. He said: “It is just nice for everyone to get together before the Year 13 leaves and we say a final goodbye to everyone.”

Year 13 are expecting their A-level results on August 14.
