Wiltshire Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses after an incident outside a Pewsey pub.

At about 12.10am on Sunday, June 22, a 22 year-old man was attacked outside the Royal Oak pub, North Street.

Daniel Evetts, 28, of High Street, Pewsey, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Swindon Crown Court on Friday, July 18.

PC Scott Barrett, iof Melksham CID, said: "This was a nasty attack which left the victim needing hospital treatment.

"I understand that a number of people were either outside the Royal Oak pub at the time of the incident or had been drinking inside the premises during the evening.

"It's extremely important that those people come forward to talk to us as they may be able to provide us with more information about either the incident itself or the events leading up to the attack.

"If you were in the Royal Oak on the evening of Saturday, June 21, or have any further information about the incident, please contact Wiltshire Police via 101."
