Westbury firm’s right on track with F1 team order
Specialist firm Spectra, based on the West Wilts Trading Estate in Westbury, has built a new mobile HQ for the Williams Martini Racing F1 team ahead of this Sunday’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
The company has been building the giant motorhome since January and employed 14 lorries to transfer it to Silverstone to be installed for the first time for drivers Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa and the rest of the team.
The building, sponsored by Martini, will be taken apart and rebuilt as the team travels to other European circuits.
It includes offices, meeting rooms, a kitchen, a roof terrace and a two Michelin-starred restaurant, and Chris Murray, head of marketing at Williams, said: “The structure is unique, being built to our specifications.”
Engineering firm and coachbuilder Spectra has been established since 1987 and has previously designed and built a range of products for airlines, broadcasting companies and exhibitions.
