Retail space in Westbury’s iconic Angel Mill, on Edward Street, which closed as a cloth producer in 1969, is being offered for rent of £14,950 a year plus VAT.

The factory dates from 1801 and was probably the earliest Wiltshire factory to be steam powered. It is testament to the importance of the cloth industry to the area.

Robert Horton, in the commercial department of Woolley and Wallis Estate Agents said: “It is early days, but already there have been a number of enquiries from interested parties because of its versatility.

“The main shopping centre in Westbury is nearby and the building has a lot of character.

“The current use is retail, it was used previously as a charity shop, but the space is also suitable for a restaurant, health and beauty salon, clinic or other leisure opportunities.”

The space is currently open plan and any change of use would be subject to planning permission. For more details contact Woolley & Wallis on 01722 330333.
