A 70-year-old cyclist from Bromham was airlifted to hospital on Saturday evening after coming off his bike on a country lane at Potterne Wick, near Devizes.
Police were called by Wiltshire Air Ambulance just after 6.20pm as a helicopter flew to the scene near Stroud Hill Farm.
A police spokesman said: “We were told that a male cyclist had been injured but it does not seem any other vehicle was involved.
"He was flown to Great Western Hospital with facial and head injuries.”
The road was closed for about an hour and a half.
