The red and white of Corsham Town FC are a common sight on matchdays in the town, but their influence will soon be spreading further afield.

Following the selection of Direct Cleaning Services as its new sponsor, the club has donated its old kit to KitAid, which will distribute it to children in Africa.

Club chairman Ken Baldwin, who is also kitman, has rounded up more than 100 kits from the club’s last five years and handed them over to the charity.

He said: “It gathers a bit of wear and tear, but it’s all perfectly good stuff. I’ve got bundles of it at the club; we’ve got two full sets of last season’s kit, and some old ones we’ve kept.”

“I found the charity which will ship them out to Africa and distribute them to children there. It’s good to know they will be able to make use of it.”
