Brothers Liam and Sean Brereton are holding a charity football tournament in aid of Dorothy House Hospice and RUH Cancer Care Campaign tomorrow at John of Gaunt School.
The event, which will run from 10am-5.30pm, will include a five-a-side football tournament featuring 24 teams, as well as a barbecue and a penalty shoot out competition for visitors.
The brothers are holding the event in tribute to their mother Carol, who died of cancer in January 2010, and grandmother Jean Selway, who died five months before following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Liam, 28, said: “We have held the tournament a few times before, but this will be the biggest one yet with 24 teams taking part.
“Anyone is welcome to come along and watch the tournament or to enjoy the other activities going on.
“We are both former John of Gaunt pupils and the school has always been very helpful when we have organised events. The charities are both important to us, so hopefully we can raise a lot.”
Admission to the event is free. To donate to the cause, visit www.justgiving.com/ CBShield
