A Wiltshire weatherman says more storms could be on the way after last night’s downpour, which came after the hottest day of the year so far.
Steeple Ashton-based Geoff Witts reported a modest 10mm of rain overnight at his home weather station, despite the sustained thunder and lightning. He said: “So far this month it has been quite dry, and the storms were quite spectacular.
“Yesterday just edged it for the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures reaching 28.7 degrees, and last night was also the warmest night, with 16.7 degrees, and there could be more coming tonight.”
