Pupils from Winsley Primary School learned about disability and difference during workshops with the JustDifferent charity last Friday.
The interactive workshops included real life story-telling, using wheelchairs, quizzes and a question and answer session.
It was led by Kevin Ogborne, who was born with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus and who now uses a wheelchair. He still enjoys basketball and visiting the gym.
He said: “We know that the earlier children and young people learn about disability and difference, the more likely they are to accept people like me as they get older.
“We aim to create better understanding of disability, giving children and young people the chance to ask questions about disability and have fun.”
Since launching in 2008, JustDifferent has managed to reach more than 156,000 children with its activities.
