THERE’S not been chance for children in Swindon to complain of boredom during the school summer holidays.

A variety of activities at leisure centres across the town have been keeping youngsters entertained during the start of the six-week break, with a sports camp at the Link Centre proving popular.

The camp is an ideal alternative to boring school holidays with activities for children aged between eight and 13 including circus kills, team games, ice skating, football skills, climbing, swimming, athletics, basketball skills and trampolining.

The camp runs daily Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm until August 22, and then Tuesday to Thursday, August 26-29.

The Hi-5 Camp at the Haydon Centre in Haydon Wick is another great way for children aged four to 12 to spend their holidays in a safe environment where they can take part in crafts and sports activities.

Activities include team and ball games, short tennis, basketball, trampolining, bouncy castle, arts and crafts, quizzes, music and dance, electronic games and more. The camp runs until August 29, excluding August 25 bank holiday.

  •  A standard day runs from 8.30am to 5.30pm, although an early start is available from 8.15am and/or you can book a late finish until 5.45pm. It costs £22.50 with a leisure card or £40.50 for standard price.

The Summer Sports Camp at the Link Centre is open daily from 9am to 5pm and costs £15 per child per day as a special introductory offer.
