Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a 79-year-old Devizes man died following an accident on the A342 near Wedhampton yesterday.
The incident took place near the junction with Green Gate Road at Wedhampton shortly before 5pm.
A white Vauxhall Astravan travelling towards Devizes was in collision with a beige Jaguar XJ8 travelling in the opposite direction towards Upavon.
Both the driver of the Astravan, a 20-year-old man from Devizes, and the driver of the Jaguar, an 79-year-old man also from Devizes, were taken to hospital.
A police spokesman said: "Tragically, the 79-year-old driver died from his injuries in the early hours of this morning.
"The 20-year-old driver was released from hospital last night.
"The two drivers were the only occupants of the vehicles.
"Wiltshire Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have seen either vehicle before the collision occurred."
