Clarendon Academy is delighted with the performance of its sixth form as A-level results were announced today.

Principal Mark Stenton said: “2014 results represent another very good year for A-level and Level 3 BTEC results at the academy.

"Students and teachers have worked extremely hard and I am delighted with the success that has been achieved. There has also been a rise in the number of A* and A grades which highlights outstanding effort.”

Head boy George Harrison achieved A* A* A grades giving him a choice of top university offers, including London’s LSE, to study geography.

Outstanding results of straight A* to B grades were also achieved by head girl Lina Boughetane, Daniel Noutch, Billie Ramsey, Maddie Sinclair, Matthew Tickell, George Oswin, Oliver Hudson and Ben Wrigley.

The academy is also celebrating best ever results by Year 12 students at AS-level; the first cohort affected by the Raising of the Participation Age (RPA) and therefore required to remain in education or work with training.

Mr Stenton said, “This emphasises the outstanding progress at the academy in all year groups.”

Sixth form head Winston Witham said: “All students are to be commended on their efforts and we will be ensuring over the next few days that all of our Year 13 students can move successfully into university or their chosen careers.”
