The scene of the police investigation
Police are investigating the death of a man found lying in a field by a member of the public near Drynham Lane in Trowbridge at 7.37pm on Saturday.
The scene was attended by police officers and paramedics and the man, aged in his 30-40s, was declared dead.
Detectives are in the process of identifying the man and have yet to inform the next of kin.
At this early stage, the man’s death is being treated as unexplained. A post mortem examination will take place in due course.
There remains a cordon in place where the man was found.
