Visitors travelling to Bradford on Avon by train will get a clear welcome to the town after a new 3-D sign on the station’s bank was unveiled by the mayor on Monday.
The project was started in October by Simon Meade-King, who has volunteered with Friends of Bradford on Avon Station since leaving his job in the booking office in 2011.
He said: “In the old days, they were seen at a lot of stations, so I thought it would be nice to try and do it.
“I started with a bare bank, then cut the letters out with a knife and built it up from there. It is concrete, with mortar on top to keep it smooth.”
Mr Meade-King is now starting on a similar project in Yatton, Somerset.
Mayor John Potter said: “It is a fantastic work of art and everyone’s very appreciative.”
