Musical treat as St John residents show off garden and craft skills

Green-fingered residents of The Order of St John Care Trust home will showcase their craftiness at their annual Wiltshire Flower, Vegetable and Craft Show on Wednesday.

More than 150 residents from 18 county care homes will put on a display of cakes, handicrafts, homegrown vegetables and floral art at the events fifth annual show at Seend Community Centre from 1-4pm.

Entries will be judged by Gill Acornley and Colleen Russell of Seend’s WI, retired Ridgeway House manager, Jane Ridgwell, and members of the local flower and gardening club. Rosettes and certificates will be awarded.

This year’s event will also include a picnic lunch, tea and cakes, along with live music from ukelele band, Ukebox Juke. In addition to the resident awards, results of the Trust in Bloom Competition 2014 will also be announced.
