Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after the theft of family pet dog Kia.
The incident took place between 7am and 10am on Saturday, August 30, in Little Cheverell, near Devizes.
The suspect gained entry to a stable block and Kia - a Saluki dog - was taken.
It is believed that the thief may have attempted to take a second dog as another animal's collar had been removed.
Kia is described as being red grizzle in colour and is thought to be worth around £600.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.
