More than 60 vehicles were pulled over and inspected by police on the A360 Devizes between Potterne and Lavington as part of an operation to tackle rural crime.
Headed by Melksham Neighbourhood Policing Team, officers found 13 cars to be in breach of the law.
One vehicle was seized for having no insurance, two fixed penalty notices were given to those with no insurance and there was a prosecution for dangerous goods.
Verbal warnings were also issued and two people will be interviewed by the Department for Work and Pensions as a result of the operation.
Melksham NPT were joined by officials such as VOSA, Wiltshire Council and the Environment Agency.
