STAFF from TSB traded bundles of cash for brushes and paint when they spent a day at Swindon Dance giving a kitchen a much-needed makeover.

The group, led by Robyn Leigh, branch manager at the Commercial Road bank, spent yesterday tidying the lavender garden and painting and decorating the kitchen attached to the conference room, which Swindon Dance has available to hire.

Robin said: “None of us are painters or decorators so the work has actually been quite hard. The kitchen definitely needed some tlc though.

“TSB are a bank but they’re not just a bank; they’re also about people and the community and they like to try and give back to the community when they can.

“The paint was donated by Steve Paisch, who’s a contractor and has just been absolutely wonderful. Dulux in Hobley Drive donated some as well.”

Lizzie Bond, development and communications manager at Swindon Dance, said: “It’s a new venture for us to be working with business like this but we are so grateful for the work TSB are doing.

“We simply don’t have the staff or the money to do this and it really is in need of doing.

“They have really improved it and made it much more appropriate for a kitchen attached to a conference room to hire out.

“We are hoping it will become a more long-term venture with TSB and with other companies who might be looking to work with us.”
