Fire crews rushed to The Old Manor Hotel in Trowle, on the edge of Trowbridge, in the early hours of Sunday morning when a blaze in a linen basket full of towels led to a small fire in the laundry room.
The fire had been put out by the time firefighters arrived so they used ventilation equipment to clear the smoke.
