GP practices across Wiltshire were recognised for their work with unpaid carers by Carer Support Wiltshire at an awards ceremony in Devizes last week.
The Investors in Carers Awards were presented at the Corn Exchange celebrating the continued success of the charities’ GP Accreditation Scheme which supports carers across the county.
The scheme, now in its second year, saw the introduction of the new top award of Gold Plus for practices which have gone the extra mile in supporting carers.
Helen Gough, health and communities engagement worker at carer support Wiltshire, said: “The fact that 20 GP practices were awarded the new Gold Plus level shows the level of commitment to supporting carers across the county.
“This event gave us the opportunity to say thank you and provided everyone with the chance to celebrate the partnership working which has meant we are reaching and supporting more and more carers.”
