Progress on the planned community hub in Bradford on Avon means the facility could now be open in January.

The Hub@BA15 centre will be in the old HSBC bank in Church Street and will offer locals a foodbank, as well as debt and money management advice, together with other services.

This will include providing facilities which include a meeting space, shared administration, fundraising and other services to voluntary and community organisations.

It is hoped that the Citizens’ Advice Bureau and Credit Union will also be able to run services from the community hub.

The hub is governed by a trust made up of three sponsoring organisations – Bradford Churches Together, the town council and the Bradford on Avon Community Network.

Cllr Laurie Brown, who is chairman of the group steering the project, said that advertising for a co-ordinator to assist in the day-to-day running of the hub shows just how well the project is going.

He said: “It just shows you that the hub has moved along at a good pace.

“We are hoping to get fantastic support because it is a very caring town.”

Details of the co-ordinator’s job are available on the Bradford on Avon town council website. www.bradfordonavon towncouncil.gov.uk
