Hilperton School pupils took inspiration from Beano cartoonist Kev Sutherland when he visited the school last week as part of a series of events to celebrate its special book week.
Mr Sutherland, who draws cartoon strips such as The Bash Street Kids and Dennis The Menace, ran workshops with children in Key Stage 2.
He also did caricatures of the children, before they made a comic strip of their own based on what they had learned.
The school held a range of activities throughout the week, including a bedtime reading session and a Roald Dahl fancy dress day on Friday.
