A man who died following an accident near Marlborough has been named as Max Pearson, 21.

Mr Pearson, 21, from Marlborough, was fatally injured at about 5.40am yesterday on Grand Avenue, a private road in Savernake Forest.

Three other young people also travelling in the same car - a Silver Renault Clio - were seriously injured while a fourth passenger suffered minor injuries.

The front seat passenger - Sam Parrington, 19, from Marlborough - and two rear seat passengers - 17-year-old Emily Rodriguez-Martin from Axford and a 15-year-old boy from Pewsey - were seriously injured and taken to John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

Louis Lamb, 18, from Marlborough, who was also in the rear of the car, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Great Western Hospital, Swindon.

The car was travelling north along Grand Avenue towards Ramsbury from Marlborough.

The road was closed for most of Sunday morning whilst emergency services were on the scene.

Police do not believe another vehicle was involved in the collision but are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen the collision or the Silver Renault Clio prior to the incident.
