Three young men have died following a crash at the West Wiltshire Trading Estate in Westbury last night.

The collision was reported to police just before 10.30pm and involved two vehicles.

A silver Citroen Saxo hit a blue articulated lorry and the men travelling in it were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police confirmed tonight that they are two men aged 20 from Trowbridge and an 18-year-old from Devizes.

It is thought that the 44-tonne lorry was parked. The lorry driver was uninjured.

Quartermaster Road was closed for seven hours whilst emergency services dealt with the incident and it has now reopened.

Local businesses today were unaware of the accident and have said that the police have done an “excellent job” in clearing the road.

South West Ambulance service confirmed that a total of seven vehicles attended the scene including three rapid response units, two doubled crewed ambulances, an officer and a doctor.

A spokesperson from the South West Ambulance service said: “We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the victim’s families.”

Police are now appealing for any witnesses of the collision to come forward.

Witnesses can contact PC Frank Katus from the Road Policing Unit at Police Headquarters in Devizes on 101 or email frank.katus@wiltshire.pnn.police.co.uk or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.

It is the third fatal accident on Wiltshire's roads in less than a month.

On November 15 passenger Max Lewis, 19, died in a collision near Melksham, while a week later Max Pearson, 21, was killed when his car hit a tree in Savernake Forest, Marlborough. The funeral for Max Lewis was on Thursday.
