CONVICTED paedophile Roger Lee has been two years and four months after he travelled more than 300 miles from Pewsey to Newcastle to meet a 14-year-old schoolgirl for sex.

The 45-year-old of Pewsey Road, Rushall, thought he had been chatting to a teenager called Rebecca on the chat website Badoo and arranged to meet her at Quayside in Newcastle.

But when he arrived he was confronted by a duo, which goes by the name Dark Justice, who tricked him and passed their evidence to the police.

Lee pleaded guilty at Newcastle Crown Court to attempting to meet a girl following sexual grooming and was jailed two years and four months.

The court heard that Lee used the name 'ForHire' and chatted openly to ‘Rebecca’ and sent the fictional teenager graphic pictures of himself.

He arranged to meet with her at the Millennium Bridge in Newcastle at 9am on October 9 while her parents were away.

The court was told that Lee had previously been convicted for having sex with a 12-year-old girl who he got pregnant in 1998.

As well as the jail sentence, he was given an extended licence until 2020, must sign the sex offender register indefinitely and was given a sexual offences prevention order.

The two men behind Dark Justice, who wish to remain anonymous, were at the sentencing hearing to see Lee sent to prison.

One of the men said: “We filmed him and he just walked away from us and then when he heard the police were on their way he started running and got into his car.

“Every day we pick up the paper and see, paedophile, paedophile, paedophile and we just want to stop this sort of thing happening so we’ll carry on doing it until we see a change.

“We’ve got other court cases coming up but this is the first one where there has been a conviction.

“We just believe in exposing people who deserve to be exposed we don’t target people, we never initiate a conversation, we wait for them to start talking to us.”
