POLICE are urging homeowners to be more vigilant after a spate of burglaries in the Marlborough area.
The first incident occurred on January 22 between 11.40am and 12.10pm in East Kennet, and the following day a house in Lower Churchfields was targeted between 9.30am and 3.15pm, followed by a break-in at Avebury Trusloe between 1-2pm on January 26.
The final incident happened in Beckhampton on January 26 between 1-3pm.
The suspects then returned to the same property where they were spotted by neighbours.
Police believe all the burglaries are linked and that the thieves got in through windows and stole jewellery.
Sgt Clare Wallace said: “The burglaries have all occurred during the day while the owners have been out.
"Four burglaries might not seem like a lot but for this area it’s significant.”
Two men have been arrested but no charges have been brought.
