Superheroes were seen around Devizes last Thursday as Southbroom St James Academy students took part in a litter pick.
The 25 Year 3 children, along with teachers and Devizes mayor Sarah Bridewell, collected 10 bags of litter from various different locations across Devizes.
The children were dressed in superhero costumes they had designed and made themselves.
Rachel Merritt, Year 3 teacher, said: “It was great to see and because the children were so engaged in helping look after Devizes we plan to carry it on, although on a smaller scale.
“We decided to invite the mayor, who the children were excited to meet, so they could show her what they were doing for the town.”
The litter pick was part of a term-long project called ‘can you be a hero’.
The children spent six weeks looking at different ways they could be heroes through their actions, with the litter pick chosen as a way to be a local hero.
