Oliver Twist and the Minions from the film Despicable Me were seen at Trinity School in Devizes recently as part of a charity fancy dress day.
The day was organised by pupils on the school council to raise money for Water Aid, in the hope of funding a water pump in Africa.
The children each paid £1 to come to school dressed as characters from their favourite films and television programmes, raising more than £100.
Deputy head Hannah Allender said: “It was great that the children were so enthusiastic and that they really understood how their money was going to help.
“It costs over £7,000 for a pump so we are a long way off that but the children wanted to pay towards one.”
The school are organising two other events in aid of Water Aid.
A talent show is being held on April 17 and a splat the teacher event on May 15, with the children getting the chance to throw wet sponges at school staff.
