WORSHIPPERS will gather for special services on Friday to celebrate Women’s World Day of Prayer.

The event is an international, interchurch organisation which celebrates the voices of women expressing their hopes and concerns and bringing them before the rest of the world in prayer.

About three million people in more than 170 countries will gather to observe the day of prayer.

Local services are at 10am in Holy Rood Church in Groundwell Road, 2pm at the Baptist Church in Brinkworth, 11am at St Mary’s Church in Lydiard Tregoze, 2pm in the United Reform Church in Royal Wootton Bassett, 11am at St Mary’s Church in Toothill and 1.45pm at St Joseph’s Church in Devizes Road in Wroughton.
