THE Devizes and Roundway In Bloom committee are once again on the lookout for people to open their gardens to the public as part of this year’s floral events.

The committee are hard at work organising the towns third annual open garden’s weekend, with chairman Zena Robson hoping that even more people with take part this time around.

The event last year had 21 gardens open and raised £1,500 for the mayor’s charities.

She said: “We are inviting the green fingered and generous gardeners of Devizes and Roundway to fling their gardens open to an appreciative audience.

“The Open Gardens is completely non-competitive and we do it because it is fun and a great way to raise money for local charities.”

The In Bloom committee are also donating packets of wildflower seeds to anyone who has a sunny but bare patch in their garden.

The seeds are available from the town hall, for a 20p donation per packet.

To get involved in the open garden weekend contact Elanor Oddy at the town hall on 01380 722160 or email inbloom@devizes-tc.gov.uk by April 10.

The open garden weekend will be on June 13 and 14 from noon until 5pm. Tickets will be £5, with accompanying children free.
