KEEN dancers have tapped out funds to the tune of £5,000 to support the Wiltshire Air Ambulance over the past 12 months with a whole host of fundraising events.

The Estelle School of Dance, which has around 100 dancers on its books, put on charity car washes and sponsored swims, to name just a few initiatives, centred around their production of Hans Christian Anderson at the Wyvern.

A team of 40 dancers and principal Patricia Bennett handed over the cheque for £5,000 on Friday.

"Our fundraising was centred around the production of Hans Christian Anderson we put on at the Wyvern Theatre this year," said Patricia.

"Every year we raise money from a production, and this year we chose the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

"There were so many things we have got involved with through the year to raise money, including coffee mornings, cake sales, and bag packing.

"Last year we gave £5,000 to the hydrotherapy pool, because they were quite desperate. The money has always gone to a cause we care about a lot, like Prospect Hospice or Great Western Hospital, so this year we chose the air ambulance.

"We just thought it was such a good cause and they deserve the money because of the wonderful work they do."
