North Wiltshire MP James Gray has called the imminent break-up of North Wiltshire Leisure Ltd a scandal.

He said: "This is an absolute shambles. The whole history of the relationship between North Wiltshire District Council and North Wiltshire Leisure Ltd has been incompetent.

"It is shameful, incompetent and a shambles."

James Gray MP

"It is shameful, incompetent and a shambles.

"Lots of children and their families will be deprived of their sport and exercise over the weekend not only in Wootton Bassett where I have been campaigning but in Chippenham and Corsham too.

"It is a disgrace. Surely they could have thought of this and headed it off at some point in the last three months.

"Somebody here has made a terrible miscalculation."

When I read that James Gray had said "It is shameful, incompetent and a shambles." I hadn't realised at first that he was talking about the leisure centre fiasco - I assumed he was referring to himself!

Why doesn't this man do the decent thing - resign - and save the taxpayer an aweful lot of money in the process?

Not really the time for scoring points is it? This particular farce has nothing to do with James, who has done an excellent job of raising the issues of the Leisure Centre closures. If you want to criticise, look no further then the local council.

Nonsense - he's only jumped on the bandwagon in an all too obvious attempt to try to salvage his political career - and the salary, allowances and expenses that go with it! The man should do the decent thing and resign - end of story!

How can he, with any credibility, criticise anyone - a man who - if the Advertiser and national media is to be believe - has been very liberal with public money - a great deal of public money - quite apart from the "other" matter!

If he is the sort of person you want representing you then - what can I say? But he isn't the sort of person I want representing me!
