MUSIC lovers can hear some of Wiltshire's most talented young musicians compete in the final of a county competition in Devizes on Saturday.

Seven young people will compete for the honour of being named young musician of Wiltshire in the town hall at 7pm.

The contest will see the performers each play for 12 minutes in front of judges Christopher Moore, Sharold Gould and Richard Hickman.

The winner will receive the young musician of Wiltshire trophy and a cheque for £100. second and third placed performers receive £50 and £25.

Taking part will be violinists Anahita Falaki from Swindon, Katherine and Rachel Stonham from Trowbridge, singer Katey Rylands from Westbury, bassoonist Emma Williams from Chippenham and two pianists, Vincent Ling from Warminster and Hannah Munday fromExeter who qualifies as she has music lessons in the county.

Before the result is announced violinist Joel Munday who won the first young musician of Wiltshire competition in 2013 will perform.

The event is run with the support of Devizes Eisteddfod and the main sponsors are Awdry, Bailey and Douglas solicitors.

Admission to the competition final is by programme which costs £5 and can only be bought on night. Student admission is free.
